Phoenix Arizona – Desert Botanical Garden
Painted on June 20 2014 ‘en plein air’, on location.
Was a lovely sunny morning and I was accompanied by my daughter that wanted to visit the Garden just before our leave towards Las Vegas.
After visiting the Botanical Garden and got dehydrated, we decided to make a stop and found a very comfy location, aside from the harsh sun, where we could drink and also paint. We stopped in the Berlin Agave Yucca Forest zone. Relaxed and still having plenty of time, we found the proper point of view and interesting subjects and as bonus, a nice bench. It was time to spread all our tools on the bench and enjoyed the moment.
I picked the Blue Yucca as the main subject of my watercolor and the Giraffe Acacia as the background, mostly for providing us with the filtered shade.
